Terrance "Terry" Ingram

August 4, 1937 - November 22, 2017

Terrance Ray Ingram, age 80, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Terry was born in Pembine, WI on August 4th 1937 to Clarence Ray and LaVerne Frances (Squires) Ingram. He graduated from Pembine High in 1955. After Babe and Ray watched their only child graduate from high school, Terry chose to continue his journey to become an educator by getting his Bachelor’s Degree from Oshkosh State College and then his Master’s and PhD from Miami University of Ohio. He taught Media Technology & Photography at the University of Wisconsin Stout from 1970 until he retired in 2001. He had a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge with others that led him to have a lasting impact on so many of his students. He made many life-long friendships among students, faculty and staff. Terry truly wanted to help those around him succeed and took great pride in doing so. Terry enjoyed the outdoors and loved to take long road trips out west as well as spending time at the Ingram farm in Pembine. He loved spending time in the mountains, hunting with family and friends and driving the old Oliver tractor through the woods at the farm, he truly was at home out in nature. It was no surprise that this love of nature and education led Terry to become heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America and The Order of the Arrow where he proudly mentored many as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Adviser to the Otyokwa Lodge. Terry loved life and brought joy to so many people. His smile, his unique sense of humor as well as his fashion sense that included oh so many sport coats were just a small part of what made him so special. Terry lived a full life, valued his faith, tried to make others better and loved his family and friends. He was undeniably one of a kind and the world was a better place with him in it. Terry is survived by his loving family. His wife Margaret (Wood) Ingram, his children Kristine Middendorf (Bob), Bradley Ingram, Robert Ingram and Timothy Ingram, his grandchildren Michaela Walker, Bradley Walker, Kristine Ingram, Zachary Ingram, Alexander Ingram, Kaitlyn Ingram, Hannah Ingram and Colton Ingram as well as many “adopted” kids and grandkids. A Celebration of Life service will be held for Terry at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 421 Wilson Ave., Menomonie, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family. Memorials are suggested to: First Congregational United Church of Christ, 420 Wilson Ave, Menomonie, WI 54751; Stout University Foundation (Terry and Margy Ingram Scholarship) 320 S. Broadway, Menomonie, WI 54751; Order of the Arrow-Chippewa Valley Council, BSA 721 S. Hastings Way, Eau Claire, WI 54701, or another organization of the donor’s choice. Terry would not have wanted tears to be shed for him but for all those that knew and cared for him to remember the laughs and the love with a smile on their faces and joy in their hearts.
