Sandy J. Gerth Obituary (1940 - 2017)

Sandy Jane Gerth, age 77, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, Sept 22, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire surrounded by her family. Sandy was born on Easter Sunday on her grandma Mary’s birthday, March 24, 1940 in Menomonie, WI to George and Hazel (Adams) Stark. She grew up in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1958. Sandy married Arnold Gerth September 5, 1959 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, and together they farmed west of Menomonie. They had two children. Sandy was baptized, confirmed, and attended Peace Lutheran Church her whole life. She was also a member of Palmer Homemakers for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and had a passion for baking and the holidays. Sandy is survived by two children, Julie (Gary) Gray of Menomonie, Dean (Jackie) Gerth of Menomonie; three grandchildren, Stacey (Donny) Rogers, Steven (Brittany) Gerth, and Rachel Gray of Menomonie; she is also survived by sister and brothers- in-law, Ruth and Lawrence Gerth, Walt Gerth; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, parents, George and Hazel and a sister Jan Bradford. The family would like to thank Colfax Health & Rehab and the staff at Mayo Clinic Health Systems with special thanks to Dr. Parisi for all of their care and compassion. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Bob Friese officiating. Burial will take place at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
