Samuel E. Owen

Samuel Eugene Owen, age 85, of Colfax, WI went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Cedar.

He was born July 25, 1935, in Wheeler, WI to Lavern and Maye (Murralt) Owen Sr. Samuel grew up in Wisconsin and attended high school in Lemmon, SD.

On Oct. 3, 1959, Samuel married Mary Olsen at Maplewood Alliance Church in St. Paul, MN. To this union three sons were born. Samuel worked as a farrier for many years in the local area.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Sam Jr. (Linda), Clint (Delores), and Lance; grandchildren, Brandon Owen, Cheral (Steve) Dekle, Clarissa Owen, Chad (Mariel) Owen, Darci Jo Owen, and Jesse Owen; great-grandchildren, Tandryk, Kelton, and Tyler Owen, Cameron, Garrick, Zackary and Stetson Dekle, Mariah, Macey and Tyler Owen; a brother, Lavern (Mary) Owen and a sister, Miriam Clemens; also survived by many other family and friends.

There will be a Memorial Celebration at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, WI. Burial was in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Hay River, Dunn Co. WI. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is assisting the family.
