Orville Olson Obituary (1923 - 2005)

ORVILLE L. OLSON Orville Leonard. Olson, age 81, of Rice Lake, formerly of Menomonie died Wed., Jan. 26, 2005 at the Barron Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1923 in New Richmond, WI to Leonard and Helen (Brott) Olson. Orville married Lucille Newberg, his wife of 62 years, on Aug. 16, 1942 at Birchwood, WI. He attended Birchwood School and entered military service in April 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He was subsequently employed as shipping and receiving supervisor at Sandy Lee Manufacturing in Menomonie until 1985 when he retired. Orville is survived by: His wife, Lucille of Rice Lake 2 daughters, Barbara Styer of Waukesha Grace (Ron) Buss of Menomonie 5 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren 3 sisters and 1 brother And other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his son, Rev. Lyle Olson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Mon., Jan. 31, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with the Rev. David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, town of Menomonie with Military Honors provided by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church on Monday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling the arrangements.
