Orlan Ray McClellan Obituary (1914 - 2016)

Orlan Ray McClellan age 101 of Menomonie WI passed away Sunday May 29, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County. He was born August 4, 1914 in Warren Township, Midland County, Michigan to Samuel Edward and Kate Mable (Keck) McClellan. When Orlan was a few years old the family moved to Menomonie WI. and he has resided in the area since that time. Orlan served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater for fifteen months working in maintenance on guns of a bomber squadron. After his time in the service, he did many jobs in the area and retired from maintenance at UW Stout. Orlan is survived by many nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Ort” Jeannie (Steve Anderson) McClellan of Mondovi, WI. Barb Ludwitzke, Mike (Elaine) Burns, of Wabasha, MN. Vada Husby, Robert (Luanne) Delong, Janice (Larry) Dahms of Menomonie, WI. Shirley Sorenson of Lake Wales, FL and Clarence (Darryl Anne) McClellan of San Bernardino, CA. And special friend Fayella Jackson of Menomonie, WI. Orlan was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers; Ora, Clarence, Jack, and Estell. Sisters: Edna Phillips and Florence Burns. The family would like to thank the staff of Inglenook Terrace of the Neighbors of Dunn County for their care and comfort for Ort the last couple of years that he was a member of the household. Per his request, a private family service will be held with burial at Irvine Creek cemetery with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Guard.
