Mildred Tweeten Obituary (1908

MILDRED M. TWEETEN Mildred Muriel Tweeten, age 94, of Menomonie died Thursday, October 3. 2002 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. Mildred was born February 12, 1908 in West Salem, WI to Martin and Anna (Opsahl) Michelson. She graduated from West Salem High School and the LaCrosse (WI) Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. Mildred served as a private duty nurse in LaCrosse before accepting a position as obstetrics nursing supervisor at the Lying-in Hospital at the University of Chicago. Mildred married the Reverend Sigvard M. Tweeten on July 12, 1934 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in West Salem. Together they served churches in Chicago, IL and Minneapolis, MN. After his retirement they lived in Fairmont, MN and Menomonie, WI. Mildred is survived by: a daughter, Muriel (John) Mikkelson of Menomonie 4 grandchildren Sara (Michael) Kyle of St. Paul, MN Erick (Leann) Mikkelson of Marietta, GA Luther Mikkelson of San Antonio, TX Ann (James) Jorgenson of Lester Prairie, MN 5 great-grandchildren Laura and Helen Kyle Ellyn and Emily Mikkelson Kathryn Jorgenson 1 brother, Anker Michelson of LaCrosse 1 sister-in-law, Doris Michelson of West Salem nieces, nephews other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sigvard and her brother Clifford. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, October 7 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Rev. Bob Friese officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery, West Salem, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30 am Monday until time of services at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling the arrangements In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie.
