Marlys M. Husby Obituary (1924 - 2016)

Marlys Mary Husby, age 91, of Menomonie, WI died Friday September 9, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County. Marlys was born September 16, 1924 in Menomonie to Walter and Genevieve Hintzman. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1943 and on October 30, 1943 she married Donald Richard Husby. To this union 3 children were born. Together Don and Marlys ran a dairy farm and subsequently a small trucking business. She also worked for many years at the Bank of Menomonie and the Dunn County Register of Deeds. Marlys treasured her home in the country. She always raised a large garden and enjoyed feeding the birds. She loved all animals, especially cats. Her love of family was boundless and she spent hours knitting gifts for them. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and a daughter, Dianne Husby. She is survived by her son Dan (Lynn Krause), daughter Cindy (Larry Disney), three grandchildren, Erin, Erika and Amanda Disney and her beloved cat, Mimi. The family would like to give special thanks to her physician, Dr. Nathan Rich, the staff at Neighbors of Dunn County, her dear friends Jerry and Jan Traxler, Mary Merritt, and Mindi and Lee from CVS pharmacy. Bless you all for what you did for her. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Dunn County Humane Society or Christ Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Jeanne Warner officiating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
