Lyle Weber Obituary (1917 - 2003) - Menomonie, Wisconsin

LYLE R. WEBER Lyle R. Weber, age 85, of Pompano Beach FL, formerly of Menomonie, passed away Sat., March 1, 2003 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was born May 27, 1917 in Menomonie, WI to Paul and Bertha (Kamrath) Weber. Lyle graduated from Menomonie High School in 1935. He then served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. for 13 months. During college Lyle was employed by the Red Press Brick Company and at E.W. Wylie Ford Shipping as a company clerk. He was a Timekeeper for the W.P.A. for Dunn and Polk Counties in Wisconsin. During W.W.II Lyle was attached to the 7th Army with action in Germany. Lyle worked for Uniroyal in Eau Claire for 38 years, retiring in 1979. Lyle was active in Masonic Lodge 164 in Menomonie, as 32nd degree Mason and was Master of the Lodge in 1963. In recent years he coordinated activities for the annual visit of the Wisconsin Grand Master to Palm Beach, FL. Lyle was very active in Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie where he negotiated the purchase of land for the new church and served as treasurer and financial secretary for over 22 years, with seven different pastors. With his wife, Janet, who preceded him on Dec. 21, 1995, they developed a passion for southern Florida, visiting each winter for fifty years. Lyle is survived by: Three sons, Paul V. (Judith) Weber of Madison, WI Jack D. (Judith) Weber of Menomonie, WI Richard M. (Patti) Weber of High Point, NC Four grandsons and three great-grandchildren A sister, Clarice Haesly of Menomonie A Niece, Sandy Haesly of Menomonie He was preceded in death by his wife Janet;; his parents, Paul and Bertha Weber; and brothers, Lester and Sidney Weber. Funeral Services were held at St. Stephens Church in Pompano Beach, FL. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2003 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Rev. Rob MacDougall officiating. A Masonic Service will be conducted by Menomonie Lodge 164. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Spring burial will be in Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie.
