Lowell E. Saxton Obituary (1932 - 2014)

Lowell E. Saxton, age 81, of Menomonie, WI died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Menomonie. Lowell was born December 29, 1932 in Menomonie, WI to Bert and Florence (Waterbury) Saxton. He grew up in the Spring Brook and Fall City/Forest Center Area in Dunn County. He attended the Dunn County Agriculture School and was very active in Future Farmers of America. He became a State Champion in public speaking and farmed for a great deal of his life. Lowell married his sweetheart, Rosebell Brockway and were happily married for sixty-three years. They loved to travel and visited many of the national parks in the U.S. He was very active in his church. Lowell loved his Lord and family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Rose of Menomonie; children, Melvin Saxton of Menomonie, Kathleen (Glen) Mikesell of Eleva, Calvin (Kim) Saxton of Eau Claire, Darlene (Kane) Wienke of Eau Claire and Jolene Hilliker of Ellsworth; numerous grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Florence (Waterbury) Saxton; one daughter, Geraldine; one granddaughter, Andrea Saxton; sisters, Luda Cummings and Hazel Saxton; and one brother, Russell Saxton. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at The Seventh Day Adventist Church at Hwy. 29 on County Rd. E, east of Menomonie. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Center Cemetery, Spring Brook Township, Dunn County, WI.
