Lorraine H. Rhodes Obituary (1924 - 2016)

Lorraine H. Rhodes, age 91, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Menomonie. She was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Boyceville, Stanton Township, Dunn County, WI to Otto and Mabel (Neyer) Schultz. She was raised in Stanton Township and attended Granger School. On Oct. 18, 1944 Lorraine married Manford S. Rhodes in Boyceville, WI. Lorraine enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, crocheting, embroidering, writing, music, fearlessly learning new technology, the Green Bay Packers and especially spending time with friends and family. Lorraine is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Roger) Krig; six grandchildren, Heather Rhodes (Michael DonCarlos, deceased), Amber (Aaron) Kane, Brandon Rhodes, Travis (JoAnne) Krig, Holly (Jon Evans) Krig, Darin (Tisha) Krig; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany Rhodes, Kaitlynn Anderson, Tierney Rhodes, Audrah Krig, Sophie Evans-Krig, Mekah and Blake Kane; a brother-in-law, Edward (Lynette) Rhodes and two sisters-in-law, Mabel Rhodes and Helene Rhodes; as well as nieces and nephews. She dearly loved them all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Manford; one son Robert, one sister Gladys; and two brothers, Herbert and Orville. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Dunn County Historical Society.
