October 25, 1924 - April 10, 2020
Lois Betty (Jensen) Neubauer, age 95, passed away from natural causes at Mayo Clinic in Menomonie, WI on April 10, 2020. She was born October 25, 1924 to Jesse and Dora (Hansen) Jensen, both were from Denmark. She was the youngest of 12 children and born in a home built by her father in Weston Township. Lois attended Twin Hill School in rural Weston. As a young lady, she met Wayne Neubauer and they were married on May 10, 1941. Together Wayne and Lois lived on their horse and dairy farm in Weston for many years. They were members of Peace Lutheran Church and have two sons, Vaughn and Eugene. Lois worked right along side the men on their farm. As she helped cut wood, hay and clean barn, she never complained. When friends came to talk horses with the Neubauer’s, she always invited them in for a home cooked meal and cookies. Lois enjoyed traveling with Wayne and her family to horse pulls where they made lifelong friends. Wayne and Lois were also part owners of “The Ranch” – a property near Irvington where friends and family gathered to enjoy events and create wonderful memories together. She also drove the “school bus” taking her turn transporting the neighborhood children and worked for UW Stout in the Food Services Department. Lois saw the best in everyone, and led her life with kindness and love. Above all else, she adored her family. It was important to her to have a special bond with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took pride in making traditional meals at every holiday for the entire family for over 70 years. Lois enjoyed quilting, and every member of her family has beautiful quilts to show for it. She was known for her cooking and delicious meals, she enjoyed flowers, gardening and playing cards (especially the card game ‘May I’ with her sisters and other relatives every Wednesday). Lois is survived by her two sons: Vaughn (Carol) Neubauer and Eugene Neubauer. Four grandchildren: Jim Neubauer, Tom (Angel) Neubauer, Kathy (Josh) Forster and Kari (Jeff) Samuel. Seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Colby, Bryce, Brianna, Jackson, Steven and Mitchell; many nieces, nephews and additional relatives. She was proceeded in death by her father and mother: Jesse and Dora Jensen; husband: Wayne Neubauer; brothers and sisters: Sena (Jerome) Ader; Bonnie (Francis and LaVerne) Ader; Lawrence (Alta) Jensen; Mary (Alfred) Kunz; Pearl (Harold) Neverdahl; Ruth (Lloyd and James) Stoeklen-Weiss; Vera and Verna (infant twins) Jensen; Hans Jensen; Julia (Swede) Snittler; Dorothy (Harold) Buckley. Also in-law’s: August and Mabel Neubauer; Harold (Edna) Neubauer, Verna (Alvin) Gesche, Vera (Jeff) Doane. A special thank you to Eugene for his devoted love and daily care that allowed Lois to live on her own at the home farm for all of her beautiful years. A private family service, with Pastor Bob Friese officiating, will be held at Olson Funeral Home and Peace Lutheran Cemetery on April 15, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
