Joan L. Kaiser Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joan Lou Kaiser, age 81, of Menomonie, WI formerly of Boyceville, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. She was born April 27, 1934 to Allie and Marie (Danovsky) Schlough in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County. She schooled at Little Beaver, graduated from Prairie Farm High School, and attended Luther Bible Institute. On June 6, 1953 she married Walter Kaiser. Together they farmed for over 30 years, most of that time North of Boyceville. Joan also worked for Dunn County Health Care Center, House Calls, and American Lutheran Home. She was active in her Church, Homemakers, Cub Scouts, 4-H, and Boy Scouts. In the latter years of her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her special friend Gene, feeding hummingbirds, quilting, playing dominos, and hand and foot. Joan was preceded in death by husband Walter Kaiser, parents Allie and Marie Schlough, sister Elsie Schleusner, brother Leo Schlough, sister-in-law JoAnn Schlough, brothers-in-law Robert Flanagan, Lester Schleusner, Ray Schleusner, as well as extended family Art (Loretta) Kaiser, Edward (Alice) Kaiser, Louie (Alice) Danovsky, brothers-in-law Merlin (Esther) Martinson, Don Mittlestadt and Orie Obermueller, She is survived by her children Greg (Susan) Kaiser, Joelene (Jody) Evan and John (Deb) Kaiser, grandchildren Matthew (Cari) Greeley, Ethan (Jordyn) Kaiser, Nichole (Joel) Roemhild, Justin (Michelle) Evan, Joni (Paul) Heard, Jeremy (Amanda) Kaiser, Jena (Matt) Kaiser, Karley (Brad) Kaiser, Brandon, James and Kenny Schultz, Lamanda (Caleb) Nurnburger, Chelsea Hattaway, 20 great grandchildren, sisters Millie Schleusner and Dorothy Flanagan, brother Virgil (Pat) Schlough, sisters in law Hazel Obermueller and Laura Mittlestadt, and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at American Lutheran Home, St. Croix Hospice Care, Mayo Clinic Health System Red Cedar Clinic, and Ruth and Bob Potter. Joan is much loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Hay River Lutheran Church in the Town of Hay River, Dunn Co. WI with Pastor Loren Barker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
