Jean R Noble Larson

–

Menomonie, Wisconsin

Jean Ruth Noble (Larson), 82, passed away peacefully at the Colfax Health & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born January 31, 1933, in Racine WI to George and Violet (Hill) Noble. She met Elton Larson and they were married in Racine. They moved to Menomonie in 1952. Jean was a beautiful and wonderful mother to their four children, and also worked as a secretary and at Sanna Dairies. She and Elton loved golf, square dancing and bowling; and she especially loved flowers and decorating their home. The family has fond memories of fun camping trips and special fish fries. She made so many Christmases and birthdays special and loved serving her delicious “Mom’s Chocolate Cake”.

After Elton’s death in 1973, Jean married Wayne Rambo and moved to Wheeler. Together they opened and operated the Groc-O-Mat and Wheeler Café. Jean loved serving home-cooked meals and was an excellent cook and baker. Her lifelong dream was to retire to Florida, so they moved to St. Petersburg near her sister, Nancy. Jean enjoyed living by the water and the sea gulls; and we all enjoyed many family vacations with her. She moved back to Menomonie to be near her children when she started suffering the onset of Alzheimer’s.

Jean is survived by her children: Darlene (DeWayne) Harnisch; Virginia (John) Sheaffer; Dennis (Peggy) Larson; and Marlene (Joe) Larson; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Charlie) Bond; brother, George Noble, and many special nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Elton; parents George and Violet; sisters, Judy Noble and Sue Thomsen; son-in-law, Bill Watland; and a number of other beloved in laws.

Jean was loved very much by her kids and grandkids and will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff for the wonderful care and special kindness Jean and her family received at the Colfax Health & Rehabilitation Center. Also many thanks to Pastor Walck for his visits and words of encouragement.

A public celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Colfax Health & Rehabilitation Center. A private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery will follow at a later date.

Olson Funeral Home, Menomonie, is assisting the family.
