Ivelyn L. Brown Obituary (1926 - 2014)

Ivelyn L Brown, age 88, of Menomonie WI passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 3 2014. He was born January 25, 1926 in Menomonie, WI to Edward H. and Bertha M. Brown. He grew up on a dairy farm near Menomonie and graduated from Dunn County Agricultural School in 1947. Ivelyn served several years in the Wisconsin National Guard. He married Olive A Morrow whom he met while working for North Central Airlines in 1955. Shortly afterward they moved their family to Los Angeles, California where he purchased and operated two restaurants, H. Salt Esq, Fish and Chips. After Olive's in the death in 1973 Ivelyn returned to the Midwest with his sons where he spent the majority of the rest of his life doing what he loved to do, farming. Ivelyn is survived by his sons, Jeffrey S. Brown, Darcy M. (Patty) Brown, his sister Joyce Miller, his grandsons, Ethan and Sawyer and granddaughter Helayna, sister-in-law, Della Westberg. Also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bertha, his brother Juelynn, wife Olive, and his middle son Mark. Visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, on Wednesday August 6, from 4 – 8 pm and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Mark Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Guard.
