Irma Brown, age 96, of Menomonie, WI, died on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Neighbors of Dunn County, Menomonie, WI. Irma Edna Brown Was born on June 14, 1922 to Arnold and Martha Otto in Menomonie. She grew up on a farm in the Township of Menomonie and graduated from high school in 1940. She married John William Brown on October 17, 1942. She was employed by the University of Wisconsin, Stout for 28 years and retired in 1983. Irma was Baptized, Confirmed and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Her strong faith was demonstrated by the many hours she spent serving her Lord at her church, including being a member of the Dorcas sewing and quilting group. She is survived by one daughter, Marcia (John) Stillman of Sun City, AZ, one son, Jerry (Linda) Brown of Menomonie, WI, three granddaughters, Melissa (Brett) Jensen of Osseo, WI, Jamie (Michael) Amers of Verona, WI, Jennifer (Michael) Kassity of Bozeman, MT and one grandson, Christopher (Melis) Edwards of Bozeman, MT. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, her sister, Margaret Brown, a brother, Elmer Otto, and her daughter, Jackie Blankenship. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul’s Building Fund. The family would like to thank the staff of Morning Song at the Neighbors of Dunn County and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful, loving care during Irma’s time spent in their care.
