Gretchen A. Grantham Obituary (1952 - 2015)

Gretchen A. Grantham, age 62, of Boyceville, WI went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, February 20, 2015, under the loving care of Adoray Hospice. Gretchen was born Nov. 21, 1952 in Potsdam, NY to Lyle and Barbara (Hance) Planty. She graduated from Sauquoit NY High School. Gretchen was a true down to earth mother to all, and will be sadly missed. Gretchen is survived by her husband, Jerry “Sarge” Grantham; her children, Craig (Catherine) Edwards, Scott (Laura) Lavair; Amber Lavair (Brent Kobs), Samantha Burger, Harley Grantham, Amy Grantham, Jerry Grantham Jr.; grandchildren, Mia Edwards and Brett Jordan Jones; her mother, Barbara Planty; brothers and sisters, Laurie Planty, Stewart (Judy) Planty, Clifford Planty, Kathy (Larry) McMartin, Roy Planty (Patrick London); and a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Planty; sister, Brenda Allen; brother, David Wayne Planty; mother-in-law, Latrelle Grantham; father-in-law, Oscar “Shorty” Grantham, and step-father-in-law, Buddy Carter. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 2988 60th Ave., Wilson, WI 54027, with Pastor Rick Mannon officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 4:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
