Glory Ann Miller Obituary (1930 - 2014)

Glory-Ann J. Miller, age 83, of Elk Mound, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire surrounded by her family. Glory-Ann was born October 15, 1930 in Menomonie to Eli and Mabel (Beguhn) Haase. She graduated from Dunn County Normal School with a teaching degree. She taught at the Roach School in the Township of Sherman, Dunn County for a short period of time. On December 31, 1952 she married Lyle G. Miller at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Menomonie. They farmed together for many years. Glory-Ann was a hard worker on the farm. She loved gardening, milking cows and liked to relax on the front porch that overlooked the farm. She had much appreciation for all the farm animals. Her family was very important to her and she cherished all the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all. Glory-Ann is survived by daughter Janine (Steven) Scharlau and their daughter Cora, daughter Cheryl Miller (John Steen), son Douglas (Sheri) Miller and their daughters Briana Miller (fiancé Dave Nelson), Kayla Miller, and daughter Pamela (John) Hotchkiss. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close family friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle, her sister Naomi Price, brothers-in-law Willard Price, Lloyd Miller, James (Deloris) Miller, Bob (Geri) Miller and Bud (Rita) Miller. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
