Glennis Carol Pahnke Obituary (1933

Glennis Carol Pahnke, of Menomonie, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County Nursing Home. She had been a long time resident of the facility due to her brave battle with Alzheimer’s. Many thanks to the staff for all of the care and love they gave her over the years of her stay. Glennis was born on August 31, 1933 in Stockton, MN. She married Kenneth Pahnke on August 6, 1955 and together, they had many wonderful years of ministry and teaching in Lutheran Schools in Milwaukee, Winona and Menomonie. They supported and volunteered for many organizations and loved to help their church and community in any way that they could. Glennis and Ken believed that they were put on this earth to help others and they did that where ever they lived. Glennis was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Tilly Luhmann; her beloved husband, Kenneth Pahnke; and siblings, Dick, Virgil, Kurt, Glen and Chucky. Glennis is survived by sisters, Shirley and Mary; and sons, Brian (Debra) Pahnke of Gladstone, MI, Glenn (Felicia) Pahnke of Scottsdale, AZ and Terry Larson of Eau Claire, WI; also grandchildren, Alexandra, Taylor, Austin, Sebastian, Christian, Shayne, Chance and Ana. The family will have a celebration of life and remembrance luncheon at “Simple Man Ranch” in Buffalo City, WI on May 29th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in memory of Glennis Pahnke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, 1100 9th St. East, Menomonie, WI 54751.
