Glen M. Thompson Obituary (1938 - 2008)

GLEN M. THOMPSON Glen M. Thompson, age 69, of Menomonie, WI passed away peacefully, at the Dunn County Health Care Center on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 2, 1938 in Eau Claire, WI to Oscar and Helen (Pederson) Thompson. Glen served his country for several years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he obtained his GED. For a time he was employed by Northern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman. He also worked for many years for American Hoist & Derrick in St. Paul, traveling to many countries as a trouble-shooter for the company. Glen leaves to mourn, his wife Connie; sister Arlene (Chris) Wangen; brother John (Marlene) Thompson; half brother David (Donna) Kincade; his three sons, Tony, Tim and Todd; stepdaughter Penni Titus; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A private memorial service will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Chaplain Dale Freberg officiating. Burial of the ashes will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
