Gilbert M. Hanson Obituary (1932 - 2015)

Gilbert “Gib” Martin Hanson, 83 passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Menomonie, WI. He was born on May 21, 1932 to Martin and Mabel (Engebretson) Hanson in the Town of Hay River, Dunn County, WI. He attended Big Beaver Elementary School and graduated from Boyceville High School. On July 6, 1954 he married Adella Peck, his high school sweetheart. Gilbert enjoyed working in his shop, playing cards, hunting and spending time with his family. He worked for many years at the Dunn County Health Care Center and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 50 years. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adella; children, Linda (Rick) Hanson-Kerr, Keith (Marsa) Hanson, and Bob (Terri) Hanson; 9 grandchildren, Shea (John) Chambers-Dunn, Aron (Bobbie) Dunn, Jorel Kerr, Alicia (Mike) Johnson, Nicole (Oscar) Martinez, Ashley (Luke) Krumenauer, Kelsey Neby, Tyrel Hanson (fiancé Jordan), Cody Hanson; 6 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Thomas, Autumn, Kira, Kaci and Stella; sister Laila (Richard) Davis; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Irene Dunn and Pamela Hanson. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hay River Cemetery, Town of Hay River, Dunn County, WI. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is serving the family.
