Gail M. Krause Obituary (1936 - 2015)

Gail M. Krause, age 79, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Cedar in Menomonie. She was born July 1, 1936 in Menomonie, WI to Herman and Loretta (Backus) Brunn. Gail was raised in Menomonie and baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1954 and has been a life-long resident of Menomonie. In 1962, Gail married Robert Krause in Menomonie and later divorced. They had two sons, Don and Jim. Gail worked at Mills Fleet Farm in Menomonie for many years starting from the time they opened. She most recently worked at the Holiday Convenient Store in Menomonie until her retirement. Gail enjoyed going out and socializing and in her younger years she loved to dance. Her greatest joy was her family and her dog Charlie. She will be sadly missed. Gail is survived by her sons, Don Krause (Kathy Kraimer) of Colfax and Jim Krause (Kim Olson) of Menomonie; a grandson, Dalton Krause of Menomonie; two nieces, Jinny (Don) Thompson-Orsburne of Elk Mound and Dianna (Gary) McBride-Smith of Catlin, IL; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elaine Iverson and Marion Brunn; one brother, Myrl Brunn and a nephew, Michael Brunn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI.
