Etta Mae Wiseman Obituary (1917 - 2015)

Etta Mae Wiseman, age 98, of Glenwood City, WI passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Amery Medical Center. The former Etta Mae Cartwright was born August 30, 1917 in the Town of Elk Mound, Dunn Co. WI to Leon N. and Maude M. (Knott) Cartwright. She was raised in the Elk Mound area and graduated Co-Valedictorian from Elk Mound High School in 1935. Etta married Erwin E. Wiseman on August 29, 1937 in Elk Mound. As a stay at home mother she was active in PTA, a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher and member of the Ladies Aide. She was a loving wife and mother. She took great pride in obtaining her CNA License and her loving compassion was displayed in her 17 years as a CNA in several area nursing homes. Etta will be missed for her delicious and artistic meals. She was also a talented writer and loved gardening. She supplied many with beautiful flowers and produce from her gardens. Etta is survived by her children, Terry Wiseman of Dunnellon FL, Charleen Ovren of Menomonie, Jodette (Mark) Welke of Colfax; daughter-in-law, Joannie (Lyle) Sandberg of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Connie Anderson, Robin Ovren, Stephen (Denae) Ovren, Teresa (Steve) Angel, Ulrica (Jeff) Stinson, Theodore Wiseman, Angelina (Matt) Anderson, Peter Wiseman, Kelly (Joe) Burgess, Mark (Kelly) Welke Jr., Brian Mott, Amy Saltness, Leah (Dave) Nyberg; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Duron Bergeson as well as many more nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Erwin; a son Brian; a son-in-law, Richard Ovren; three sisters and one brother; great-grandchildren, Robbie Davies and twins Roald and Anne Ovren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with grandson-in-law, Pastor Matthew Anderson officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waneka Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn Co. WI.
