ESTHER I. RODEY Esther I. Rodey, age 81, of Menomonie, WI died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Menomonie. The former Esther Irene Thorson was born Dec. 29, 1921 in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI to Alfred and Emma (Koepp) Thorson. She graduated from Menomonie High School and worked for Lloyd Ellingson and Clarence Smith, both attorneys. She married Willis Rodey on Aug. 27, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. They farmed in the twp. of Sherman and she also worked for Dunn Co. Human Services for 32 years as a stenographer. Esther also played piano in the local orchestra. Esther is survived by: Her husband, Willis Rodey of Menomonie A son, Steve (Joan) Rodey of S. Milwaukee 2 grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Her sister, Mabel Krueger of Menomonie A brother-in-law, Louis (Eleanor) Rodey of Menomonie A sister-in-law, Dorothy Baker of Menomonie Nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and 3 brothers-in-law, Lloyd Rodey, Henry Krueger and George Baker. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Dale Freberg officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
