Elaine E. Hawkinson Obituary (1937

Elaine E. Hawkinson, age 80, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home. The former Elaine Wyss was born July 18, 1937 in Menomonie, WI to Harry and Angeline (Rogers) Wyss. She attended Boyceville schools and graduated from Dunn County Aggie. On Nov. 26, 1960 Elaine married Jerry Hawkinson at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, and two children were born to this union. Elaine was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church. She loved her home and always enjoyed helping her neighbors. She also maintained a beautiful garden and yard. Her husband Jerry was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard for 30 years and it was always a big part of Elaine’s life. Elaine was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Elaine is survived by her son, Tab (special friend Trisha Blount); her daughter Kim (Tony) Wintering; grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth and Angela Wintering; her sister Maxine Hintzman; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry; and a brother Dale Wyss. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Randy Skow-Anderson officiating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
