DuWayne L. Stratton Obituary (1940 - 2018)

DuWayne Laverne Stratton, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI. “He is now home and riding his Harley Davidson in the sky” He was born March 24, 1940 in Menomonie, WI and raised on Gypsy Hill outside of Menomonie. Parents were Laverne and Leoma (Williams) Stratton. DuWayne is survived by two sons, Jeffery Stratton, Richard Stratton, by one daughter Michele Knapp (Stratton), and husband Mark Knapp, and grandson Chad Stratton, wife Marissa Stratton, and great grandkids. He is further survived by one sister Mary Ann (Norman) Gralow; one brother Merlin (Sue) Stratton; and sister-in-law Brenda Stratton. DuWayne retired from the Operating Engineers Local 139 as a Crane Operator. His passion was riding his Harley Davidson motor cycles and traveling all over. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Chaplain Craig Weber officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A lunch will be served following the service. Family and friends are welcome. Burial will be scheduled later in the spring.
