Diane L. Piaskoski Obituary (1949

Diane L. Piaskoski (nee Fleischman), age 73, of Menomonie, WI died of pneumonia complicated by cancer shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She had been struggling with cancer the past three years. Her husband John predeceased her Jan. 1, 2017. She is survived by her children Woody and Megan, and her grandchildren Alina and Layla. Diane was a talented person of many facets. Her brother-in-law Roman described her as "the original earth woman." You could often find her teaching the incarcerated how to cultivate vegetable gardens for the needy. She was an avid reader, there were always books on her nightstand. Diane was A student and practitioner of yoga, where she journeyed with friends to yoga retreats across the Americas. Middle age found her studying for and receiving her nursing degree. There was no more understanding and empathetic nurse than she. Poets found enthusiastic support from her according to her brother-in-law Peter. Most recently she provided loving care for her granddaughter Alina. Those who know her swear that no finer woman walked this planet. We now fill that hole she has left in our lives with thousands of excellent memories. Diane, we miss your strength and love. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI cared for her last remains.
