Delmar E. Vollrath Obituary (1918 - 2009)

DELMAR E. VOLLRATH Delmar Edward Vollrath, age 91, of Menomonie, WI passed away Nov. 26, 2009 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, He was born October 16, 1918 in Monee, IL to Edward and Marie (Wilke) Vollrath. He married Phyllis Noble on Aug. 6, 1941 in Monticello, IL. Delmar worked as a truck driver for almost 50 years and later worked for Bimba Mfg. in Monee, IL for a few years, before retiring. In May of 1981 he moved to Menomonie. Delmar was a member of St. Paul's UCC in Monee, IL and First Congregational UCC in Menomonie. He was also a member of the Peotone Masonic Lodge and enjoyed his time hunting and fishing. He is survived by: His wife, Phyllis of Menomonie A son Del Vollrath of Menomonie A daughter Taye Wiegel of South Elgin, IL Grandchildren, Michael Vollrath of North Freedom, WI Michelle Vollrath of Madison, WI Graigory (Julie) Wiegel of Elgin, IL LeighAnn (William) Fong of Palatine, IL Great-grandchildren, Ian, Danica Frances and Holden Wiegel A brother Eugene (Loubelle) Vollrath of Olympia Fields, IL Also survived by other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law Mickey Vollrath and a sister Marie Hoel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL, with Pastor Peggy Johnson officiating. There will be visitation from 12:30 until the time of the service, with a Masonic Service by Peotone Masonic Lodge, just prior to the funeral. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
