Bessie Nelson Obituary (1925

Bessie Nelson, age 92, of Menomonie, WI passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at The Neighbors of Dunn County. Bessie was born on March 9, 1925 to George and Vera (Hanko) Danovsky near the town of Connorsville in Dunn County. Bessie married Kenneth Nelson on October 28, 1943 in Prairie Farm. They operated a dairy farm near Connorsville for 25 years. Bessie was a homemaker who loved baking and gardening. She was kept busy working alongside her husband on the dairy as well as taking care of four children. They moved to Boyceville after retirement and traveled by motorhome to many parts of the United States. They enjoyed spending winters in Texas and California. Bessie was a member of Connorsville United Methodist Church for many years. Bessie is survived by: One son, Lyndon (Dolores) Nelson of Woodbury, MN Three daughters, Dianne (Frederic) Liethen of Appleton, WI Susan (Richard) Lee of Springville, CA Kathleen (Charles) Vold of Grass Valley, CA Five grandchildren, Kelli (Mark) Moeller of Portland, OR Amy (Brian) Severa of Appleton, WI Mitchell Lee of Hanford, CA Rochelle Nelson (Jalal Matie) of Roseville, MN Michael Nelson of New Berlin, WI Six great-grandchildren, Mason, Nadia, Isaiah, Noah, Adam and Kyle One brother, Wesley (Delphine) Danovsky of Boyceville As well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents and two sisters, Olga and Vera. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in Downing, WI. Memorials are suggest to the American Heart Association in Bessie’s memory.
