Anita Marie Kothlow Obituary (1929 - 2016)

Anita Marie Kothlow, age 86, of Menomonie, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Menomonie surrounded by her family. Anita was born on November 16, 1929 to Arnold and Inga (Ruud) Miller in Menomonie. She attended Hilltop Grade School and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Jack” Kothlow on September 28, 1950 and together they raised 4 children in the Christian faith. She was baptized, confirmed and a life-long member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Anita was also active with the women’s group within the church over her life time. Anita was a home maker for her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and had love for her many pets and farm animals while growing up. . She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking. She always made sure that no one left the table hungry and had a “sweet treat” to share not only with her family but also for anyone that stopped by. Anita loved spending time with her family and especially attending the grandchildren’s sporting events. Anita will always be remembered for her kind heart and the endless love she gave to her family and friends. Anita is survived by her husband, Jack of 65 years, sons, Ron (Marge) Kothlow of Oakdale, MN and Steve (Gail) Kothlow of Menomonie; daughters, Diane Hintzman (Duane Lanwermeyer) of Colfax and Peggy (Rusty) Helland of Danbury, WI; grandchildren, Erica Kothlow, Monica Hintzman, Matt (Callie) Helland, Travis (Ayla) Helland and Marcus Helland; step grandchildren, Elizabeth Brock, Bryan Brock, Joel (Terri) Dillon, Heidi (Jeremy) Shadow and Hope (Rick) Burgraff; great-grandchildren Kenna, Logan and Emmy Helland and also numerous other step great-grandchildren, her sister Ione (Richard) Styer as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Kristine Stedje officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. There will be visitation on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
