Allyn A. Pracht Obituary (1926 - 2015)

Allyn A. Pracht, age 89, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015. Allyn Arthur Pracht was born April 5, 1926 in Menomonie, WI to August and Dorothy (Blake) Pracht. He graduated from Menomonie High School. Following high school Allyn served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving on a tanker in the North Atlantic. He studied auto mechanics at Dunwoody Institute and then spent most of his working years as a pump repairman at Menomonie Farmers Union Co-op. Allyn was an Endowment Member of the N.R.A. and a firearms enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and metal working. For many years, he was a caregiver to his parents. After their passing, he later married Jeanette Doughty on June 16, 1993. Allyn is survived by his step-son, Larry Baker; a sister, Priscilla (Jack) Huppler; a brother, Dale Pracht; nieces and nephews, Karl Pracht, Nick Huppler, Elizabeth Huppler, Michael Pracht, David Pracht and Sue Collova; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeanette and a brother Lorn. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.
