Ted Johnson Obituary (1922 - 2003) - Menomonie, Wisconsin

THEODORE D. JOHNSON Theodore D. Johnson, age 80, of Menomonie, WI died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie. He was born October 3, 1922 in the Town of Tainter, Dunn County, WI to Elias and Carrie (Olson) Johnson. He was raised in Dunn County and attended country school through the eighth grade. He married the former Eileen Suckow on Dec. 14, 1941 in Menomonie. Ted worked at the Aluminum Plant in Menomonie and farmed in the Town of Spring Brook. He was then self-employed as a milk hauler in Dunn County for many years, along with his brother, Jim. Ted retired in 1987 as road patrolman for the Town of Spring Brook. Ted enjoyed cutting woodcrafts for his son and daughter-in-law for many years. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife after retiring. Ted loved all sports, playing and watching, especially baseball, football and dartball. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Ted is survived by: His three sons, John (Judy) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ Roger (Sally) Johnson of Alma Center Thomas (Chjar) Johnson of Menomonie 7 grandchildren, Troy (Betty) Johnson of Menomonie Cal Johnson of Osceola Heather (Todd) Read of Phoenix Shayne Johnson (fianc�, Rebecca) of Arcadia Travis (Laura) Johnson of Cave Creek, AZ Derek (Thea) Johnson of Menomonie Seth Johnson of Alma Center 7 great-grandchildren, Chase, Kayla, Cordel, Kamryo, Chelsie, Montana and Cody 1 brother, James (Helen) Johnson of Menomonie Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eileen; 1 brother, Martin; and 2 sisters, Caroline Hoage and Joanne Jakel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Dale Freberg officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery also in Menomonie. Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
