Robert P. Raschke Obituary (1934 - 2007)

ROBERT P. RASCHKE Robert P. Raschke, age 72, of Menomonie, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Dunn County Health Care Center where he had resided since March. Robert was born Oct. 5, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Bernard and Cecelia (Suczynski) Raschke. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and is a Korean War Veteran. Bob was a police officer in Worth, IL for several years. Later, he worked at Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL as a security guard. In 1977, Bob moved to Westboro, WI with his family where he was a tavern owner for five years. He moved to Menomonie, WI where he spent most of his retired years working part-time as a gas station clerk. On June 19, 1971, he married Phyllis Lowery, who survives him. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, woodcarving and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Phyllis, survivors include Three sons, Gary Raschke of Illinois Brian (Sharon) Lowery of Waunakee Eric Raschke of Illinois Seven daughters, Pam Griesbach of Westboro Dawn (Ed) Sackman of Menomonie Robyn (Matt) Troiber of Hannibal Jane (Pat) Gummerson of Pennsylvania Roberta, Lynda and Nancy of Illinois One sister, Bernadine (John) of Illinois One brother Eugene (Carol) of Illinois 16 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren And other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Shanna, and a special friend, Ken Pahnke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Dale Freberg officiating. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
