Richard F. Hintz Obituary (1927 - 2010)

Richard "Dick" F. Hintz passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie, with his family by his side. Richard was born September 16, 1927 to Albert and Ella (Windler) Hintz in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn County. Dick married Shirley Mae Cook on October 12, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. They were blessed with three children; Dyann, John, and Jeff. Dick and Shirley farmed in the Town of Spring Brook until 1976. They built a home near Tainter Lake, and later moved to the city of Menomonie. Richard loved to keep busy and had many part-time jobs during his "retirement". His last job was working at the Dunn County Recycling Centers both in Downsville and west of Menomonie. Dick loved the outdoors. He enjoyed farming, and raised everything from chickens and sheep, to cows, pigs and horses. Dick loved to camp, hunt, trap and fish. He could be found many summer days fishing in his wooden boat with his dog minding the hull. He always made time for his family and took time to take his grandchildren camping. Dick and Shirley enjoyed touring the United States, and spent many winters in Florida. Dick was good at working with his hands and helped many family and friends with remodeling and building projects. Dick could often be found "tinkering" in his shop. He was very giving in his time and talent. He will be missed by many family and friends. We want to thank the staff at Country Terrace and Dunn County Health Care Center for their compassion and care. Dick is survived by; His wife Shirley Children: Dyann (Walt) Schick, John (Linda) Hintz, Jeff (Jeanne) Hintz Grandchildren; Cora (Tim) Frank, Sara (Barry) Lecander, Chad (Suzie) Hintz, Michelle (Chris Abledinger) Hintz, Luke (Jodi) Hintz, Michael (Tammy) Hintz, Shannon (fianc� Damon Bitney) Hintz, and Brenna (Anthony) Palumbo. Great grandchildren; Marissa, Jessica & Nathan Frank, Joshua (Brooke), Zachary, Luke (fianc� Erin), Isaac Lecander, Suzanne & Ben Hintz, Lauryn Hintz, Katie Hintz. Two sisters; Geneva Hasse & Dona Hasse, both of Menomonie Dick is also survived by step grandchildren, step great grand-children, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ella (Windler) Hintz Four brother-in-laws; James Hasse, Walter Hasse, Calvin Cook & Walter Vernon Sister-in-law; Mary Jane Vernon Niece; Rhonda Hasse, Granddaughter; Carrie Ann (Hintz) Quilling, Grandson; Timothy Hintz, Great grandson's; Caleb Hintz and Jamie Hintz A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Our Savior's Luther Church of Menomonie with Pastor Roy Harrisville officiating. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
