Renee M. Goodell Obituary (1949 - 2008)

RENEE M. GOODELL Renee M. Goodell, age 58, of Wheeler, WI died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Renee Marie Schlough was born March 13, 1949 in Menomonie, WI. She grew up in Connorsville with parents Lyle and Ethel (Whistler) Schlough. Renee married her high school sweetheart, Steve Goodell on Nov. 17, 1967. Together they had two sons, Scott and Kevin and have resided in Wheeler. For several years, Renee worked at West Cap and then for a few years with the Boyceville School District, before her most favorite job of all, being a grandma. Renee will always be remembered by family and friends as somebody whose presence was larger than life. Her smile was contagious and she could brighten up the darkest room. She lived each day as if it was her last. She never questioned the "what if's". Even when she had a set back with her health she continued to smile and carry on. Renee loved spending time in the garage with her husband, traveling with family and friends, shopping, casino runs, packer games, and sitting around campfires with family and friends. She also loved to be on the water on warm summer days on Red Cedar Lake. Most of all, Renee loved her grandkids. She was more than just their grandma. She was a babysitter, a teacher, a chauffeur, the biggest cheerleader at the kids sporting events and most of all a friend. Renee lived more in 58 years than most people live in a lifetime. She will forever live on through our memories, through her sons and through her grandchildren. Renee is survived by Her husband Steve Goodell of Wheeler 2 sons, Scott (Dori) Goodell and Kevin (Jackie) Goodell Grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Nicholas and Jenna Cousins, Judy (Ray) Franda, Sue (Jeff) Bartsch, Peggy (Don) Hester, Rick (Chris) Franda, Debi (Dan) Heimann, Tony (Jenny) Franda and families. Her mother-in-law, Lorriane Goodell She is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Lyle Schlough, mother Ethel Schlough, father-in-law Lynes Goodell and granddaughter Callie Goodell. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church in Wheeler with Rev. Tim Matthaei officiating. . Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
