Philipp Mohr Obituary (1932 - 2006)

PHILIPP MOHR Philipp Mohr, age 73, of Menomonie, WI died Monday, April 3, 2006 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 5, 1932 in Romania to Josef and Magdelena (Moraschon) Moor. Philipp's family left their home in Romania during W.W.II first settling in Germany and later in the United States. Philipp married Rosalia Holzli on May 21, 1955 in Shaughnessey, Alberta, Canada. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Korea. Philipp and Rosa lived and raised their family in Winthrop Harbor, IL where Philipp worked as an auto body technician. In 1995 Philipp retired and they moved to Menomonie where he enjoyed helping his son-in-law with farming, tending his garden and wine making. Philipp was proud to become a U.S. citizen in the spring of 2000. He and Rosa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. Philipp is survived by: His wife, Rosa of Menomonie 1 son and 2 daughters, Raymond Mohr of Eden Prairie, MN Loretta (Kris) Leable of Menomonie Cindy (Bill) Batz of Gurnee, IL 4 grandchildren, Jared and Josh Leable, Lisa and Amy Batz 2 step-brothers, Andrew (Lydia) Holzli of Coaldale, Alberta Adolf (Ann) Holzli of Calgary, Alberta, 1 step-sister, Helen (Norm) Feil of Sooke, British Columbia A sister-in-law, Linda Moor of Cochrane, Alberta And he is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Andrew Moor; and his step-father, Andrew Holzli Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Burial will be in Cedar Falls Cemetery in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI. Family and friends are welcome 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
