OSCAR "SLIM" DUNAHEE Oscar "Slim" Dunahee, age 80, of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born March 18, 1929 in Menomonie to Oscar Sr. and Eva (Cormican) Dunahee. Oscar married Ardis Ford on August 25, 1950 in Menomonie. He was a life-long mechanic and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Oscar is survived by: His loving wife of 59 years, Ardis (Ford) Dunahee His children, Dennis Dunahee of Sioux Falls, SD Ona (Dennis) Stowell of Wisconsin Dells Vickie (Fran) Kranz of Wisconsin Dells Penny (Dean) Dickman of Wisconsin Dells John (Chris) Dunahee of Warrens Kenneth Dunahee of Menomonie Erna (Larry) Vertein of Baraboo Lagena (Rich) Bauernfeind of Wisconsin Dells A sister Erna (Rosseter) Sorensen of Menomonie 14 grandchildren, Colleen, Cassie, Derek, Brent, Alena, Chris, Trevor, Trenton, Sandra, Lindsey, Colin, Caleb, Jacob and Gary. 8 great-grandchildren, Jessie, Joey, Kaden, Elizabeth, Ryan, Hayden, Reece and Hailey. 5 step grandchildren 10 step great-grandchildren 1 step great-great-grandchild Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Gail Dunahee, mother of Cassie and Derek and special family friend. And his special pet Abby Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eva; brothers and sisters, Earl, Celia, Sylvia, John, Flora Belle, Ruby, Harold "Stubb", Francis, Lucille, and Sherman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2009 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Mike Shay officiating. Burial will be in Ford Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
