Maurice P. Peterson Obituary (1919 - 2007)

MAURICE P. "PETE" PETERSON Maurice "Pete" Peterson, age 88, of Boyceville, WI died peacefully with his family at his side, on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Glenhaven in Glenwood City, WI. He was born Dec. 11, 1919 in the Township of Brunswick, Eau Claire Co., WI to Otto and Tharasa (Wieppert) Peterson. He was raised in the Township of Brunswick where he attended grade school. Pete then worked on the home farm until serving in the U.S. Army, during W.W.II, from 1942 until 1946. Pete married Dorothy Grundeman on Nov. 26, 1948 in Eau Claire. Together they farmed in the Town of Tiffany, Dunn Co. for many years. Pete also worked at the Boyceville Feed Mill and Presto Industries in Eau Claire before going to work for the Dunn County Highway Dept. where he retired in the spring of 1985. After Dorothy's death, Pete later married Beverly Nutter on Nov. 18, 1999. They also resided in the Boyceville area. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed all nature, especially fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the casino. Pete was a member of the Boyceville American Legion Post. Pete is survived by: A daughter, Shirley (Myron) Hill of Wheeler Two sons, Glen (Yvonne) Peterson of Somerset John (Teresa) Peterson of Boyceville Stepchildren, Bill Nutter of Boyceville Michael Nutter of Downsville Cheri Carlsrud of Wheeler Eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren A brother, Oscar (Ethel) Peterson of Eau Claire A sister, Wilma Campbell of Maryville, TN Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dorothy, his second wife Beverly, three infant children, Peter, James and Linda, an infant sister Adaline Peterson, brother Harold Peterson and sisters, Erma Blanchard, Laura Vogler and Eileen Herrem. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor David Whelan officiating. Spring burial with military honors will be in Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home from 11:00 AM Monday until the time of the service.
