Lorna L. Rinck Obituary (1937 - 2012)

Lorna L. Rinck, age 74, of Menomonie, WI passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at her home. The former Lorna Lee Ashcraft was born Dec. 20, 1937 in Erie, Kansas to Loren E. and Mabel I. (Archer) Ashcraft. She was raised and educated in various towns in Kansas where her mother taught school. Lorna married Joseph A. Rinck on June 16, 1960 in Erie, Kansas. They lived in Colorado and later settled in Menomonie. Together they owned various properties in Menomonie and Lorna taught school for a number of years. Lorna was an active member of the United Methodist Church going on several mission trips. She was past president of the District United Methodist Women and current officer in the Conference of United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Federated Women's Club, a member of the Institute for Learning and Retirement in Menomonie and an usher at the State Theater in Eau Claire. She also enjoyed traveling with friends. Lorna is survived by cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe in 1987; as well as aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie with Pastor Don Gribble officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at later date in Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
