Josephine Quilling Obituary (1930 - 2011)

Josephine M. Quilling, age 80, of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in her home. The former Josephine Matilda Bieringer was born October 25, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to John and Mary Bieringer. She was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from PIUS X1 Catholic School. Josephine was employed at the Boston Department Store and Kearney Trucker Industries both in Milwaukee. On June 27, 1953 Josephine married Marshall Quilling at the United Brethren Methodist Church in Menomonie. They have been long time members of Salem Iron Creek United Methodist Church in the Town of Spring Brook. Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family and going up to their family cabin in northern Wisconsin. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Josephine is survived by: Her husband Marshall Quilling Her children, Mary Ellen (Steve) Peterson of Wausau Gregory Quilling (Heather Steinbeck) of Middletown, VA Dale (Cindy) Quilling of Menomonie Bruce (Sandy) Quilling of Menomonie Grandchildren, Joshua (Elizabeth) Peterson of Seattle, WA, Nicole (TJ) Rice of Eagan, MN, Brooke (Chris) Bowen of Elmwood, WI, Ashlee Quilling (fiancé Eric Wisemiller) Colfax, WI, Marcus Quilling of Menomonie, WI, Andrew Quilling of Middletown, VA, Katelyn and Grant Quilling of Menomonie, WI. Great-grandchildren, Isabella and Eva Rice Her twin brother, Joseph Bieringer of West Allis, WI Her sister, Rose Novokralsky of Milwaukee, WI She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Louie Bieringer, Mary Dallhopf, Sophie Riedel and Annie Ross and a daughter-in-law, Laurel (Berg) Quilling. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Salem Iron Creek United Methodist Church in the Town of Spring Brook with Pastor Margaret DeMaris officiating. Burial will be in Iron Creek Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The family suggests memorials to either Iron Creek United Methodist Church or the Diabetes Foundation.
