John E. Olson Obituary (1947 - 2005)

JOHN E. OLSON John E. Olson, age 58, of Menomonie, WI died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at his home in the Town of Dunn. John Edward Olson was born January 1, 1947 in Eau Claire, WI to Isadore and Phyllis (Grinde) Olson. He was raised in Wilson, WI and attended Spring Valley schools. John served in the U.S. Army for two years. After his military service he worked for Century Fence for 13 years and then for Douglas Hanson Company in Hammond for 8 years. He moved to Colorado where he lived for 5 years before returning to Menomonie. John enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with his grandchildren. John is survived by: A son, Norman Olson of Eagan, MN A daughter, Lauriann (Kevin) Knospe of Menomonie 4 grandchildren Tyler and Kyle Knospe of Menomonie Neriah and Cole Olson of Northfield, MN 2 brothers and 3 sisters Theodore (Pat) Olson of Burnsville, MN Thomas (Sandy) Olson of Woodville July Olson of St. Paul, MN Jane (Wayne) VanBeek of Hammond Debbie Olson of St. Paul, MN Nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Norman. The family will meet with relatives and friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. No funeral services are planned. Burial will be at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is assisting the family.
