Harry Egan Obituary (1920 - 2005) - Menomonie, Wisconsin

HARRY W. EGAN Harry W. Egan, age 85, of Menomonie, WI died Monday, July 25, 2005 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. He was born June 2, 1920 to Henry and Louise (Robison) Egan in the Town of Harrison in Lincoln County, WI. He moved to Barron County with his parents in 1929 and grew up in the Barron, Rice Lake area. Harry enlisted into the Civilian Conservation Corps for a tour of two years. He then served in the U.S. Army from January 1942 until his tour of duty ended in December 1945. After his discharge from military service, he worked at Sanna Dairies in Ridgeland, WI. On November 25, 1948 he married Carol Robarge at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, WI. They lived in Ridgeland until 1957 when they moved to Menomonie for Harry's further employment with Sanna, serving in several supervisory positions. Sanna was sold to the Beatrice Foods Co. in 1968 and Harry continued working in that organization until retiring in 1983. Harry was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and served on the council and other committees. He was also an active member of the Northwest Wisconsin Dairy Technical Society. Harry is survived by: His wife, Carol of Menomonie A son, Rod (Beth) Egan of Boalsburg, PA A daughter, Jean (Thomas) McBurney of Burlington Six granddaughters, Laura and Megan Egan Molly, Katy, Rebecca and Annie McBurney He is also survived by nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and three brothers. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Bob Friese officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is assisting the family. The family prefers memorials to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or charity of donor's choice.
