Harry O. Cockeram Obituary (1915 - 2009)

Harry O. Cockeram, age 93, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, August 18, 2009 at the Dunn County Health Care Center. The former Harry Osmond Cockeram was born November 30, 1915 in the town of Lucas, Dunn Co., Wisconsin to Osmond and Melissa (Drew) Cockeram. He was raised in the Township of Lucas where he also attended school. Harry O. Cockeram married Opal Morgan, June 11, 1938 in Menomonie. They lived in the Menomonie area all their lives, and owned and operated Harry's Shoe Repair in Menomonie for many years. Harry was an avid accordion and concertina player and also liked to sing. Harry and Opal loved performing at the area barn dances entertaining neighbors and friends. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife. He enjoyed fishing as well as getting together with family and friends. Harry is survived by: 2 sons and 2 daughters Richard Cockeram of Eau Claire Gerald (Lynda) Cockeram of Menomonie Marjorie Oberle of Menomonie Cindy (Tom) Miller of Menomonie A son-in-law Tom Peterson of Menomonie 14 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren 3 great-great-grandchildren He was proceded in death by his parents; wife Opal, a son Harry Cockeram Jr., a daughter Judy Peterson, daughter-in-law Judy Cockeram, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
