Forrest Jones Obituary (1929 - 2014)

Forrest D. Jones, age 84, of Menomonie, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Mayo Health Systems in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Forrest Dewane Jones, son of Archie was born on December 20, 1929, in the town of Spring Brook, Dunn County, Wisconsin. In 1948, he graduated from Boyceville High School. Then in 1950 he enlisted in the Air Force for four years, serving in Korea in 1953. Forrest married Marlys Mary Lemke on February 10, 1951 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie and they have resided in Menomonie since. He worked for Crescent Creamery and later in the commercial construction industry. His hobbies included woodworking, square dancing, photography, capturing family moments on film and enjoyed going to plays at the theater. Forrest is survived by his wife Marlys; Children Darlys (Randy) Dulin of Menomonie, Douglas (Diane) Jones of Knapp and Denise (Dave) Floyd of Goodland, KS; Grandchildren Heather (Larry) Graves, Ryan Dulin, Ross ( Joanie) Dulin, Crystal (Jason) Ginsbach, Jodi Jones, Aaron Jones, Kyle Jones, Alexander Jones, Megan Jones, Matthew Jones, Amy Floyd and Erin Floyd; 10 Great Grandchildren; Brothers Alfred (Betty) Jones of Mondovi, WI, and Marvin (Dianne) Jones of Boyceville, WI. He is also further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Archie, sisters Carol Kuehl and Alta Mae Mc Elwaine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Heather Kistner officiating. Military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
