Ethel Losness Obituary (1921 - 2011)

Ethel A. Losness, age 89 of Menomonie, WI died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at The American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. She was born Nov. 14, 1921 in Williston, ND to Peter and Olga (Albert) Mickelson. Ethel moved with her family from ND to Ridgeland and then Wheeler where at each place they owned and operated Mickelson’s General Store. She graduated from Aggie in Menomonie and on Dec. 7, 1941 she married Leonard Losness. Ethel is survived by her 2 daughters, Judy (Marlow) Solberg of Eau Claire and Jane (Dale Bomberg) Frieburg of Verona, WI; 4 grandchildren, Chad (Amy) Frieburg, Kara (Nick) Zizzo, Paul (Jackie) Solberg and Amy (Jeff) Frieburg; 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Kittel; mother-in-law, Jennie Losness; brother-in-law, Jerry (Marie) Losness; sisters-in-law, Mildred (Lawrence) McIntyre and Madeline Mickelson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and lots of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard (April 9, 1986) and her 5 brothers. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Hay River Lutheran Church, rural Wheeler, with Pastor David Sands officiating. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
