Ernest C. Indermuehle Obituary (1921 - 2010)

ERNEST C. INDERMUEHLE Ernest C. "Ernie" Indermuehle, age 89, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home. Ernie was born Feb. 3, 1921 in the Township of Cady, St. Croix Co., WI to Ernest and Katherine (Schutz) Indermuehle. He was raised in the Boyceville, WI area and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1940. Ernie worked for a short time at the Boyceville Creamery before serving in the U.S. Army during W.W. II, both stateside and in France. Following his military service, Ernie worked again at the Boyceville Creamery. He then went to work at the Dunn County Health Care Center as bookkeeper and accountant, until his retirement. Ernie married Mabel (Roth) Yaun on September 8, 1962 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. They were members of Peace Lutheran Church and Ernie was active in many capacities at the church, including singing in the choir. He also served on the Teegarden Cemetery Board until stepping down recently. Ernie enjoyed traveling with Mabel and he loved to read. He loved cars and was an avid collector of car books and First Day Cover stamps. Ernie was helpful and loyal to his parents and was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed. Ernie is survived by: Two sisters, Katherine Cordes of Barneveld, WI Martha Cordes of Comstock, WI 3 nieces, 2 nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews Children, Lillian (Wiard) Taggart of Everett, WA Casper (Ruth) Yaun of Oregon, WI Janet Commo of Newport, NC Grandchildren, Michael, Paul, Pamela, Damon, Nancy, Tina, Bonnie and John Several great-grandchildren Also survived by special friend Delima Sorenson, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Katherine; his wife Mabel; two brothers-in-law, Arnold and Victor Cordes and son-in-law, Dennis Commo. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Teegarden Cemetery in the Town of Lucas, Dunn Co., WI with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
