Earl E. Meyer Obituary (1925 - 2009)

EARL E. MEYER Earl E. Meyer, age 83, of Menomonie, WI died Friday, March 13, 2009 at his winter home in Texas. He was born July 23, 1925 in Eau Claire County, WI to Herman and Helen Meyer. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Pleasant Valley, WI and later graduated from Eau Claire High School. Earl married Margaret Matz on Sept. 21, 1947 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Foster, WI. They dairy farmed near Strum until 1961, then moved to a farm near Menomonie. Earl was assessor in western Wisconsin for thirty years. Earl enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, fishing and going for coffee. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 21, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Steve Schmeling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Olson Funeral home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
