Dianne M. Smith Obituary (1935 - 2011)

Dianne M. Smith, age 75, of Menomonie, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. Dianne was born in Ellsworth, WI to Victor and Helen (Winter) Halls on September 5, 1935. Dianne was married to Clyde E. Smith on July 1, 1955 at Fort Devons, MA Dianne loved playing cards and was ready for a game at a moments notice. She continued to perfect her comedy routine and always kept us laughing. Dianne is survived by her husband, Clyde, of 56 years; daughter Susan (John) Leschke of Stevens Point, WI, son Mike (Mary-Frances) Smith of Menomonie, WI; three grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Samuel Smith and Maddy Smith of Menomonie, WI; One sister Anita Bahm of Billings, MT, a brother Milt Halls of Ellsworth, WI; special niece, Sandra Halls of Denver, CO and special nephew Tom Halls of Ellsworth, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ervin, Victor “Bing” and Charles; her in-laws Donald and Madeline (Sharp) Smith and Janice (Smith) Alms. Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, July 1st at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Private burial will be held at a later date. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dimentia Association, Alzheimers Association or Christ Lutheran Church.
