Carole W. Stratton Obituary (1927 - 2007)

CAROLE W. STRATTON Carole W. Stratton, age 79, of Menomonie, WI died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. The former Carole W. Husby was born December 5, 1927 in Menomonie, WI to Earl and Mary (Butteris) Husby. She attended Coddington Elementary School and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1945. On November 10, 1947, Carole married Robert Stratton in Stillwater, MN. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in November. Carole began beauty work at the age of seventeen, working in several shops, and establishing her own shop "Carole's Beauty Salon" which was moved to Main Street in 1961, where it remained until her retirement in 2001. Carole was a great football fan and enjoyed parties. Her favorite pastime was sewing for her two daughters and other family members. She began quilting in 2002 and also loved baking and cooking. Carole loved her family and her grandchildren were especially dear to her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Carole is survived by: Her husband, Robert Two daughters, Sara (Al) Cardwell soon to be of River Falls Martha Stratton (David Moore) of Menomonie Two grandchildren, James and Rebecca Cardwell She is also survived by 5 brothers and 2 sisters Ronald (Correne) Husby of Menomonie, Joan (Bud) Myers of Bossier City, LA, Vaughn (Janet) Husby of Menomonie, James (Jan) Husby of Eau Claire, John (Melva) Husby of River Falls, Michael (Ann) Husby of Menomonie, and Kathie (Dale) Skillings of Menomonie And many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mary Husby, two sisters, Shirley Jean Nelson and Maryruth Dahms, and a brother William Husby. Funeral services for Carole will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Roy Harrisville officiating. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
