Carl Link, Sr. Obituary (1913 - 2005)

CARL A. LINK SR. Carl A. Link Sr., age 91, of Menomonie, WI died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at his home, with hospice. He was born Oct. 26, 1913 in Menomonie, WI to Charles and Emma (Tischman) Link and raised in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI. Carl was a resident of the great state of Wisconsin for all the years of his life. Carl married Erma Malhus on Dec. 10, 1935 in Menomonie. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1993. He worked at Parker Pen in Menomonie and farmed for many years. He was constable of Elmwood for several years, worked at Presto Industries and ran Links Gun Sport Shop for over 30 years. Carl was also part of the farmers market for 20 years. Carl was on the St. John's Cemetery board for many years and was a member and president of the Menomonie Archery Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and telling a good story. He was a great sportsman and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. Carl is survived by: His son, Carl Jr. (Sharon) Link of Danbury 5 grandchildren, Steve (Rita) Link of East Farmington Kevin (Brenda) Link of Frederic Dan (Jessica) Link of East Farmington Jeff (Jamie) Link of Tammy Link of Several great-grandchildren His dear friend, Della His dog, Lacy And other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Erma; 2 sons, Terry and Ronald; 1 brother, Leonard; and 2 sisters, Ada Fregine, and Lorraine Evenson. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Paul Pillman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 AM Monday until the time of the service.
