Black Louise Obituary (1923 - 2009)

LOUISE A. BLACK Louise A. Black, age 85, of River Falls, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. The former Louise Anna Willett was born July 30, 1923 in Century, Florida to William and Ella Mae (McCutchin) Willett. She was raised in Century and graduated from Century High School in 1941. Louise married Willard Black on June 6, 1941 in Brewton, Alabama. Following her husband's service during W.W.II they moved to River Falls, WI. Louise was a member of the Eastern Star, First Congregational United Church of Christ, and her Homemakers Club. She was also very involved with her husband's activities in American Legion Post 121. She loved going their cabin at Pipe Lake, reading and especially spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by. Louise is survived by: Her sons, Harlan (Luci) Black of Ridgeland, WI Terry (Joy) Black of River Falls, WI Tom (Carrie) Black of Denton, TX Chris (Judy) Black of Grandview, MI Grandchildren, Tara (Dustin) Halverson, Adam Black, Justin (Amy) Black, Aaron (Jen) Black, Jason (Megan) Black, Amy (Michael) Grandy, Andrew Black, Jeremy Black, Joshua Black and Abby Black Great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Asher Black, McKenna, Sierra and Landon Halverson, Brooklyn and Kaelyn Black, Josiah and Anna Grandy, Noah and Samuel Black A brother and two sisters, William Willett of Century, FL Helen (Edgar) Bowman of Century, FL Carolyn Councell of Milton, FL Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her husband Willard and a sister Lorraine Swick. There will be a Celebration of Louise's life at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in River Falls, with Rev. Delbert Permann officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is assisting the family with arrangements.
